Improving Contraceptive Options for Women

For many women, the importance of choice is not just about whether or not to use contraception, but which to use. At Daré Bioscience, I contribute to the development of novel contraceptive options that will increase accessibility and allow women to choose protection on their own terms.

San Diego-Tijuana World Design Capital 2024

I work from within a volunteer network of designers to generate and foster community-driven innovation in San Diego and promote the value of design thinking. As a result of this community-based effort (initiated by the Design Forward Alliance), the cities of San Diego and Tijuana have been jointly named World Design Capital 2024 to celebrate their commitment to human-centered design and legacy of cross-border collaboration.

New Orleans Community Initiatives

During my time living in New Orleans, I partnered with several local organizations to empower Louisiana entrepreneurs and innovators (New Orleans BioInnovation Center), develop youth leaders and promote sustainable farming practices (Grow Dat), provide engineering design and 3D modeling instruction (New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School), and improve climate resilience in New Orleans communities most vulnerable to climate change (Global Green Community and Climate Action Center).

GIVE is an international volunteer organization that uses an asset-based community development model to inspire growth through sustainable projects. As a volunteer for this organization, I worked alongside locals on Zanzibar Island and mainland Tanzania to construct eco-friendly infrastructure, teach fundamental English lessons, and support the Tengeru Women's Co-op. I also climbed and summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world.
